What is Nāda Yoga?

I did my first yoga class at the Sivanda Centre in Munich, German in 1991 and have practiced Hatha and Nāda Yoga ever since.

According to the Yogapedia, Nāda Yoga means “union through sound,” — it is a yoga of sound. It is an ancient Indian system and the science of inner transformation through sound and tone. Nāda Yoga is based on the premise that the entire cosmos and everything in it (including humans) consist of sound vibrations or nādas.

Hatha Yoga technically encompasses all of the physical yoga styles, the asana practice. The word Hatha can translate to “ha” the sun and “tha” the moon, two opposing energies coming together to balance as one; a balance of two energies merging into one, a practice balanced in strength and softness, leaving you feeling complete. A Hatha Yoga is a nourishing slower paced practice. The poses are held for multiple deep breaths and giving you and your body the opportunity to truly get to know each pose.
